Fabbrica Italiana Automobili Torino (Fiat) was founded in 1899 and is one of the oldest carmakers still in production. It anchored the Italian motor industry for most of the 20th century and became the core of Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, which merged with the PSA Group in 2021 to form Stellantis.
The brand built its identity on small, affordable cars: the postwar 500 and 600, the Panda, the Punto, and the modern retro 500. Within Stellantis, Fiat shares platforms with Citroën, Opel, and Peugeot, including the Smart Car architecture used by the Grande Panda and the Grizzly crossover family.
Fiat sells most heavily in Europe, Latin America, and the Middle East and Africa, with Brazil among its largest single markets.
