GMC design concept with a 3D-printed modular "Flex Fab" body, shown in SUV and pickup forms. Electric in concept form; a production version would need a combustion or hybrid powertrain.

Overview

The Hummer X is a concept from GMC, the first reveal out of GM’s new Pasadena design studio. Its headline feature is “Flex Fab,” a modular body in which panels are 3D-printed on demand from metal or recycled plastic and clip on without adhesive - 57% of the concept is built this way, opening up extensive inside-and-out customization.

GMC showed two body styles. The SUV measures 4,782 mm long on a 2,945 mm wheelbase, with 334 mm of ground clearance and 37” tires on 18” wheels. The Truck pickup stretches to 5,264 mm and a 3,318 mm wheelbase, with 316 mm clearance and 35” tires on 22” wheels. Both use Multimatic dampers and underbody skid plates.

The concept’s powertrain is electric, with no details released. A production version would require a combustion or hybrid option - relevant context given that Hummer EV sales fell 52.5% year-on-year in Q1 2026, to 1,653 units, leaving the brand in need of a more affordable, non-electric model.
