Audi has revealed the Nuvolari, the successor to the R8. It is named after Tazio Nuvolari, the pre-war Italian racing driver, and production is limited to 499 cars.
The car is built on the platform of the Lamborghini Temerario, an aluminium spaceframe with carbon-fibre body panels, but Audi developed its own body, interior, and chassis tuning. An active rear wing produces more than 400 kg of downforce.
Powertrain. A 4.0L twin-turbo V8 making 800 hp pairs with three electric motors, each rated at 150 hp, for 1001 hp combined. Drive reaches all four wheels through an 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox, fed by a 7.3 kWh battery, with four modes: E-Hybrid, Balanced, Dynamic, and Dynamic+. Audi quotes 0-100 km/h in 2.6 seconds and a top speed above 350 km/h.
Chassis. Adaptive suspension tuned specifically for the Nuvolari, carbon-ceramic brakes measuring 420 mm at the front and 410 mm at the rear, and Bridgestone Potenza Sport tyres. Inside: suede, polished aluminium, and seats on carbon-fibre shells.
Audi has not announced pricing but expects more than €500,000. Deliveries start in the first half of 2027.
