BYD has started sales of the Song Ultra DM-i in China. The key fact about it: the SUV is almost identical to the updated Sealion 06 DM-i, sharing the same powertrains and the same prices.
Built on BYD’s e-Platform 3.0, the Song Ultra DM-i is 4,850 mm long, 1,910 mm wide, and rides on a 2,840 mm wheelbase. The fifth-generation DM-i system uses a 1.5L naturally aspirated engine (101 hp) with a 238 hp electric motor on the front axle. Buyers choose between a 26.6 kWh battery for 205 km of electric range (CLTC) or a 38 kWh battery for 310 km of electric range, 1,845 km combined, and 3.3 L/100km.
The cabin centers on a 15.6” rotating touchscreen, a 10.25” instrument display, and a 26” head-up display, with the DiClaw AI assistant and heated, ventilated, and massaging seats - including a reclining front passenger “throne” with leg support. DiSus-C suspension is standard, along with tire-blowout stabilization and the God’s Eye A driver-assistance suite; God’s Eye B with lidar costs ¥12,000 extra.
Prices run from ¥129,900 to ¥159,900 ($19,200 - $23,600).
