Nissan has revealed the updated Z for the 2027 model year in the US. The headline change is that the Nismo finally gets a manual gearbox. With the Toyota Supra and BMW Z4 both leaving the market this year, the Z is now one of the few affordable sports coupes still on sale.
The Sport and Performance trims get a new bumper and a Datsun-style grille, with the Nissan badge replaced by a Z logo. A new Shinkai Green Pearl Metallic paint is offered with a black roof only. Performance adds forged 19” wheels, a tan interior, and larger monotube dampers.
The Nismo is the real story. It gets a six-speed manual, a retuned VR30DDTT engine for sharper response, GT-R front brake discs that cut 8.6 kg, a steering rack with 20% less friction, and a new Sport-mode exhaust note. Full Nismo specs have not yet been announced.
The engine is a 3.0L twin-turbo V6 with 400 hp and 350 Nm, paired with either a six-speed manual or a nine-speed automatic. Pricing for 2027 has not been announced; the current car starts around $44,000, with the Nismo from $67,000. Cars reach dealers in summer 2026.
