The FangChengBao Tai 7 sits at the top of the brand’s Tai series - a family-oriented counterpart to the rugged Bao line. Built on BYD’s e-Platform 3.0, it measures 4,999 mm in length with a 2,920 mm wheelbase, placing it firmly in large crossover territory.
Powertrain options cover significant ground. The PHEV range opens with a rear-wheel drive setup pairing a 1.5-litre turbocharged engine with an electric motor for a combined 272 hp, available with a 26 kWh or 35 kWh battery offering up to 200 km of electric-only range. The PHEV AWD variant adds a second motor for 490 hp and a 0–100 time of 4.5 seconds. BEV versions start with a 408 hp rear-wheel drive model on a 92 or 105.7 kWh battery, stretching to 755 km on a charge, while the range-topping AWD delivers 700 hp from dual motors.
Technology is a core part of the proposition. The Tai 7 comes standard with DiSus-C predictive adaptive suspension and the DiPilot 100 driver assistance system, while the top AWD variant steps up to DiPilot 300 with a roof-mounted LiDAR unit and Nvidia Orin-X processing. An optional DJI drone integrated into the roof rounds out the more adventurous end of the options list.
Inside, the cabin features a 12.3” driver display, 15.6” central screen, a 26” HUD, 13” rear passenger tablets, and a Devialet audio system with up to 20 speakers. The exterior follows the brand’s signature boxy stance with dual-tier L-shaped lighting and an external storage box in place of a conventional spare wheel.
