SAIC released official exterior images of the MG 07, the brand’s new flagship fastback for the Chinese market. No powertrain details have been announced — the car is confirmed for PHEV and BEV variants, but specifications remain undisclosed.
The 07 replaces the MG 7, which launched in 2023 from ¥199,800. Exact dimensions haven’t been published yet. The platform sibling Shangjie Z7 (a SAIC-Huawei joint project) measures 5,036 mm on a 3,000 mm wheelbase; the MG 7 it replaces was 4,884 mm. Whether the 07 grows to match the Shangjie’s footprint is unconfirmed.
What the images show
Fastback/liftback body with C-pillar LED elements and a single rear light bar. Semi-hidden door handles, no retractable units. A lidar unit sits above the windshield — the same position used on several SAIC platform siblings. Interior: a wide standalone multimedia tablet modelled on the layout of the Shangjie Z7.
Autopilot
Momenta-supplied system. Momenta provides the autonomy stack for several SAIC models; whether the 07 gets the full Momenta Gen-2 hardware (with 8 cameras and no lidar) or an updated spec with the lidar visible on the exterior is unclear from the announcement material.
Full specifications and a launch date will follow.
